The Lemonade Award

I was just nominated for a Lemonade Award, which is given to bloggers who show a positive attitude, gratitude, and a willingness to share their ideas, support and online friendship. In other words, people who make lemonade when they get lemons! I must thank Julie Demboski for nominating me, and for inspiring this young upstart. Per the rules, I am going to pass along the award to some of my top 10 favorite sites:

1. Planet Waves by Eric Francis – http://planetwaves.net  Eric is a wonderful teacher and investigative reporter who incorporates astrological aspects into daily news events and explains how they influence them.  He is always intriguing and keeps you coming back for more.

2. Priya Kale – http://www.priyakale.com/blog/ – Priya used to write for Eric Francis before she went off on her own. She has a great understanding of Chiron and the healing work we all need to do.   Her writing is soulful, spiritual, and profound.

3. Julie Demboski’s Astrology – http://juliedemboski.wordpress.com  Julie’s column is the first place I go to see what the astrological tone of the week will be. Her exceptional astrological skills, combined with her psychological and intuitive abilities, provide a picture that has prevented me from going over the top on many occasion.

4. Astrology Explored by Beth Turnage – http://www.astrologyexplored.com Beth is another fine writer who gives a phenomenal forecast for the week ahead in just a few lines. You’d think she is living in the same house with you!

5. Yasmin Boland – http://www.yasminboland.com  I always get great advice from Yasmin Boland, an Australian astrologer. She gives excellent daily and weekly forecasts and is currrently writing for Jonathan Cainer –http://www.cainer.com

6. Aquarium Age by Ralfee Finn – http://www.aquariumage.com Ralfee has me rolling on the floor every week with her irreverant take of the confusing astral complexity. Delivered with compassion and wit, she always serves up a tasty morsel that capsulizes the collective angst we are feeling in any given week.

7. Kabbalah Angel degrees –  http://www.blogtalkradio.com/angelmystics– Not really a blog, but a Blog Talk Radio show every Tuesday at 3:00 PM PST where astrologers and mystics Cynthia Rose Young and Alixandra Love give an overview of the cosmic climate and discuss the translations of Franz Bardon and the practical use of the Kabbalah Angel degrees. For an online reference go here – http://users.ritternet.com/sasha/index.html#ASTR

8. Terry Lamb  – http://www.terrylamb.net/latest_forecast.htm–  Terry writes a great monthly forecast with commentary on the political scene.  Her popular day-to-day chronology is quite effective in planning your week.

9. The Enneagram Blogspot –   http://theenneagram.blogspot.com/ This blogsite is not kept current, but it is a wealth of information for anyone interested in the enneagram typing of personality, on which our personal ego fixations and coping styles are based. Good information is also found here – http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/descript.asp

10. The Sabian Symbols – Lynda Hill  – http://www.sabiansymbols.typepad.com/ and Blain Bovee  – http://www.boveeastrology.com/sabiansage.html  Also highly recommended are the 4 books by Helene & Willem Koppejan, called The Zodiac Image, available on Amazon. There’s more psychological nuggets in their work than anywhere else I’ve found.

Mayan day – 4 Ahau (Sun)

May 31, 2009

Ahau (pronounced “ah-how”) is the daysign of poets and singers, of dancers and creative artists; the dreamy and romantic types who are motivated by their ideals. They have a beautiful vision of what life is, and most importantly what life with another, can be. In many cases, their obsession with the future and perfection leads to illusions, unrealistic expectations, and ultimately disappointments. One major problem is their unwillingness to compromise their ideals. Ahau types are determined people who would rather not participate than have to accept a less-than-perfect situation. Their devotion and dedication to another, or even to a cause or crusade is considerable. They may even give up their own better sense to accommodate others. The need for Ahau is to combine idealism with realism, and to accept a world that is not up to their hopes and wishes. When they do that, the doors will open to the more perfect world they seek.

Tarot card of the day – Wheel of Fortune

May 31, 2009

The Wheel of Fortune is also known as the Wheel of Karma. It is time to make a decision. You have to take a gamble and decide where you want to place your bet. When you are willing to choose new experiences, then everything begins to change. It may feel like you are taking a risk, but your inner self is aligned with the change in the moment. Change may look like moving homes, changing relationships, taking a new job, etc. This may feel like a leap of faith, but the universe is actually promoting this change. It is forcing you to do what will be so much better for you. When you change, you are choosing to get off the karmic wheel that has gotten you stuck. This is a moment of breakthrough. You finally realize that something inside needs to change. Only when you experience that awareness, can you change your fortune. If the card is reversed, you may want to jump, but your timing is a little off. The risk at this time may be too high. Be careful that you are not becoming a risk junkie, someone who needs to feel that adrenaline rush just for the sake of the chase and the game.

Mayan day – 3 Cauac (Storm)

May 30, 2009

To the Maya, Cauac represents the storm, the thundercloud full of purifying rain, and the lightning that shatters any false structuring of reality. In receiving Cauac, you are entering into a time of profound quickening and transformation. You may be concerned about your physical process and health. Remember to take care of yourself. The intensity you feel is the restructuring and purification at this time of Cauac. You are in the midst of a personal revolution that is clearing old patterns that are not serving you. With the energy of Cauac, you may at first feel as though your life is not working the way it used to. You might find yourself saying, “I’m feeing overwhelmed. I’m just not sure about anything anymore.” You are experiencing a breakdown of your old belief patterns, catalyzing you to transformation. With Cauac, you are being asked to leave your comfort zone and step into the unknown.

Tarot card of the day – The Hermit

May 30, 2009

The Hermit card is aligned with Virgo’s love to analyze and painstakingly seek to know and understand. Virgo teaches that by working towards our inner and outer awareness we become more aware. Previous actions you have taken may have caused a negative consequence, and now you are feeling guilty. You are searching for a breakthrough, but chasing after it doesn’t seem to work. You are now forced by your reality, or by a need, to look inside at the shadow aspects of yourself that you have been avoiding. No one at this time will have the answer you are looking for. If you keep searching for the perfect answer, teacher, or guru you will find disappointment and frustration. The Hermit card reversed means that you are unwilling to listen to the quiet voice within. Your life is too full of noise. You may not know how to take a break. You are a person in danger of burning out. The universe is giving you a warning that you need to take a break.

Mayan day – 2 Etznab (Knife/Mirror)

May 29, 2009

Etznab is the knife that cuts through illusions and offers you an opportunity to address a part of yourself that you may have been avoiding or have not seen clearly. This is your chance to see the truth. Etznab is about letting go of illusions and facing your shadows. It may create discomfort and even pain so that you are encouraged to look for new patterns that will restore harmony. In the shadow of Etznab, you may feel confused or lost in the reflection of your own emotional issues. Sometimes you may find yourself reacting rather than responding naturally to a person or situation. If you have charged reactions such as frustration, fear, anger, judgment, or jealousy, look at how you might be projecting these issues onto someone else. Any strong reaction to a person or event signals an issue to work on in yourself. Learn from the mirrors provided by other people and situations to cut through the illusions in your life.

Tarot card of the day – Strength

May 29, 2009

The Strength card is the Lust card in other Tarot decks. It is associated with the sign of Leo and represents its passion for life and love. With this card, you are learning to flow with the things in life about which you have passion. Having passion and drive enables us to create the dreams of our spirit. Your passions can be your greatest strengths. But if you are ruled by your passions, you can get caught in the addiction to fulfill your personal needs. If you use your power to get what you want, then that is the shadow side of this card. When the Strength card is reversed, it can mean that your passion is out of control. You desire something without seeing the problems that can be created if you leap before you look. You may be making a choice based on passion rather than the balance between your desires and your soul. Question to ask: “Am I in control of my own passion, or is the passion controlling me?”
