This blogging project has got me thinking a lot about my definition of success. I have always wanted to be a writer, but why? Was it because I was shut down as a child and not allowed to speak? Am I trying to prove myself to Mother? I know life is about sacrifices. Am I making the right ones? I do think astrology helps us see our shadows, and this is why I am pursuing this endeavor. But I think we all need to check ourselves from time to time to make sure we are working towards the right goal. Otherwise, we could end up with a hollow victory.
The Aztec name for Muluc is Atl, which means water. So today is going to have a lot to do with the emotions. When strong feelings are aroused, they can sometimes turn negatively into compulsive and addictive behaviors. I can remember many Muluc days when I just blew my top and acted irrationally. Another aspect of Muluc is not listening to signs and signals of internal proddings even though you are getting clear signs. I often push myself when I know I should be resting. Interestingly, this day sign’s main weakness is a need for public recognition that stems from a deep-seated inferiority complex, most likely caused by a domineering mother. Ouch! Can I get a witness?
The World is the last card in the Major Arcana. As such, it embodies the completion of a long, sometimes difficult journey. The World represents all elements coming together in order for us to receive the satisfaction and success for which we’ve been striving. We are at the end of a cycle. Enjoy it as long as it lasts. The next cycle will bring in new lessons and challenges. Make sure that the success you reach today is what you are looking for. Maybe you need to stop and re-evaluate everything first, before you push ahead again.
I’d say there’s a good balance of the energy today, with the energy and initiative of Lamat and the discernment of the Judgment card. Also, with the Moon aspecting the earth signs of the Taurus Sun and Virgo Saturn, we have the grounding and stability to manage a big project and see it successfully through to conclusion.
Lamat energy is busy, nervous and productive. We will probably take on enormous amounts of work today, so the challenge is to keep ourselves under control and not get carried away. Since “Lamat” means “star,” there is a danger in exhausting ourselves until we have given too much, are weakened, and may even collapse into a “Black Hole.” Don’t let that be you!
The Judgment card is here to remind us to check to see how adaptable we are to changes in our life. We are probably being asked to change what we originally planned today, but life is all about adjustment to change. Learn to be flexible. Where we are rigid and inflexible is where there are probably still unhealed aspects of ourselves.
